Real-world learning
Your creative art course prepares you to engage in the real world as a creative practitioner. It will give you the knowledge to navigate complex and unfamiliar systems and the insight to create meaningful work that is a positive force for change in the broader community.
You will learn the importance of cultural diversity, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives, in increasingly globalised creative fields.
Studies on industry workflows, tools, processes, and skills will equip you with a strong understanding of current industry practices—from concept development to timelines and finished works.
This practical, hands-on approach to learning continues in your business degree, starting from your very first semester, you’ll engage in real-world learning experiences with QUT Business School and our industry and community partners. You’ll develop skills, gain valuable experience and build confidence throughout your course, preparing you for a successful transition into your professional career. You will also complete the business Real World Ready capstone unit, where you’ll work individually and as part of a team to present analyses and recommendations to an industry or community partner.
Throughout the course, you can work on real-world projects and develop an individual practice. Gain experience through internships and work placements, and tailor your learning to the part of the industry most interesting to you.

Bachelor of Business
Through business core units, develop the business skills to be able to think creatively and critically, communicate professionally, make ethical business decisions and work in a global context. Your major units will deepen your knowledge and experience, equipping you as a professional in your chosen discipline.
As part of our work integrated learning (WIL) program, you'll also have the opportunity to work on real-world projects, engage with industry professionals and complete professional work placements.

Bachelor of Creative Arts
You will engage in common subjects in your creative art degree that will provide you with skills in essential areas of communication, collaboration and professional awareness to ensure you’ll be prepared for a highly professional and entrepreneurial approach to your creative arts career.
You will develop your craft by choosing one major, and you will also choose one creative arts elective unit from any creative area or a work integrated learning unit to compliment your studies.

You will also complete QUT You units; an innovative new curriculum designed to prepare you for a rapidly changing future.

In order to complete this course, you must complete a total of 384 credit points comprising 192 credit points from the Bachelor of Business, 180 credit points from the Bachelor of Creative Arts, and 12 credit points of QUT You. You will undertake both degree components concurrently.
Business component:
You must complete the 84 credit point Business core units together with a 96 credit point major. You will choose a business major from Accounting, Advertising, Behavioural Economics, Economics, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, International Business, Management, Marketing or Public Relations.
Creative Arts component:
You will complete six common units (72 credit points) and a Creative Arts major (96 credit points) from one of the following disciplines (Animation; Contemporary Art; Creative Writing; Dance; Drama; Film and Screen; and Music). You will also choose one Creative Arts elective unit (12 credit points).
QUT You component:
- 24 credit points selected from the QUT You option units.

Before you start this course, we assume you have sound knowledge of the subject/s listed below. If you don't have the subject knowledge, you can still apply for the course but we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging studies to gain the knowledge:
- English, or Literature, or English and Literature Extension, or English as an Additional Language (Units 3 & 4, C)
And for Accounting, Finance, Financial Planning, Economics and Marketing majors: General Mathematics, or Mathematical Methods, or Specialist Mathematics (Units 3 & 4, C).
