Real-world learning
From your first year, you’ll explore real-world challenges through hands-on community engagement and interdisciplinary learning. You’ll work alongside educators and community partners to understand how curriculum, pedagogy and assessment can be applied beyond the classroom in places like cultural institutions, not-for-profits and local initiatives.
As part of your studies, you will complete two dedicated community engagement units. In the initial unit, you’ll work with local organisations to explore the unique strengths and needs of your community. Later, during the second unit, you’ll build on your earlier experiences by applying what you’ve learned in a real-world work context.
You’ll also take on a work integrated learning internship, where you’ll put your skills into practice in a professional setting. It’s a chance to build your network, gain valuable experience and graduate with the tools to lead change in education and community spaces.
