In this condensed course, you’ll learn how to manage entire renewable projects including management, regulatory contexts and finance. You will learn about energy storage, how to analyse and design microgrids, energy policy and energy forecasting.   

You will work alongside industry consultants and academic experts who are leaders in renewable energy system design and performance, energy storage, energy efficient transport, smart cities, climate change risk assessments, and carbon neutral strategies.

What to expect

The Graduate Certificate in Renewable Power is a postgraduate degree consisting of 48 credit points and can be completed in six months full-time or one year part-time.

To be eligible for this course, you must have completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in:

To broaden your career options, upgrade your Graduate Certificate to a Master of Engineering Technology (Renewable Power) by completing one additional semester of full-time study.

Renewable power engineers work on designing and developing systems that will harness renewable energy from a wide range of sources including hydro, solar, wind and biofuels. You must have:

  • A recognised completed four-year full-time (or equivalent) engineering degree in a relevant discipline plus at least 3.00 years full-time (or equivalent) of professional experience in electrical power engineering; or
  • A recognised completed three-year full-time (or equivalent) engineering degree in a relevant discipline plus at least 5.00 years full-time (or equivalent) of professional experience in electrical power engineering.
