The Graduate Certificate in Communication for Information Technology will help you to meet the English language requirements of the IN20 Master of Information Technology. This program will help you to improve your English language capability and academic literacy skills while studying advanced IT topics. On completion of the Graduate Certificate in Communication with the required results, you are guaranteed a place in the second semester of the chosen Master of Information Technology.

What to expect

This course is intended primarily as a pathway for international students who want to study IN20 Master of Information Technology but have not met the English language requirements for direct entry. The Graduate Certificate in Communication for Information Technology helps you build the English and academic skills you need while you begin developing postgraduate IT knowledge.

You will study two communication units at QUT College to support your academic English and two IT units at the faculty from the master degree. The IT units you study can be credited towards any majors in the Master of Information Technology and will teach you best practice IT strategies and solutions.

In choosing the Graduate Certificate in Communication for Information Technology, you will:

  • study on campus as a QUT student with access to all services and facilities across the university
  • receive a guaranteed place in Master of Information Technology with 1 semester of advanced standing (on completion with the required results)
  • develop academic English language skills and progress without the need to take another IELTS test (or equivalent).
