As a financial adviser, every day you will collaborate with individuals, businesses, and organisations, helping them manage their financial matters and meet their financial goals.

In this course, you will learn the fundamentals of finance, investment, taxation law, superannuation, and retirement planning. From there, you will explore more advanced subjects, including insurance, risk, management and estate planning, financial services and law and personal financial planning.

You'll also gain valuable hands-on experience navigating and operating widely used financial software such as  XPlan. Guided by industry experts, you'll learn how to gather and analyse information to manage finances effectively, evaluate risk, and assess performance and value.

QUT's Financial Planning course is designed in collaboration with industry partners, with an emphasis on real-world learning. Throughout your studies, you will hear from many prominent financial planning professionals ranging from CEOs of leading finance associations to local and international financial advisers from a variety of industries.

As part of our Work Integrated Learning program, you'll also have the opportunity to complete professional work placements in consultancies, corporate settings, government, and community groups.
