What you will learn 

From your very first semester, you'll engage in practical, real‑world learning experiences with our industry and community partners, ensuring you graduate with a portfolio showcasing your first‑hand business expertise. 

Through core business units, you'll develop a strong foundation in critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, business ethics and professional communication - skills that are in high demand. 

In your major, you will: 

  • Learn foundational statistical and mathematical concepts and skills. 

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of economics, covering both microeconomics and macroeconomics and apply them to contemporary issues. 

  • Learn about the interplay between the decisions and actions of consumers, firms and governments. 

  • Develop econometric and data analysis skills to evaluate economic relationships, test theories and inform evidence-based decision-making. 

  • Learn how the economy works by exploring things like economic growth, inflation, unemployment rates, exchange rates and income distribution. 

  • Explore how the global economy works, including trade, global production networks, and international economic issues and policies. 

  • Learn how human behaviour influences economic decisions, such as risk-taking, habits and biases. 

  • Explore the importance of economics in environmental and natural resources policy. 

  • Examine how government policies and market regulations influence economic outcomes, competition and consumer welfare. 

In addition, our WIL program offers internship opportunities with leading organisations, helping you build valuable professional networks and gain practical industry experience.
